It is the eighth Rugby World Cup and is hosted in England, which started on the 18th September running through till the 31st October. As it is well underway let’s take a look back through the last couple of weeks.
With the first match being held at Twickenham, England Vs Fiji, with England taking a massive 35-11 win. Owen Farrell is currently the teams top scorer with 27 points followed by Mike Brown with 10 points for the nation. Jonny Wilkinson still holds the world top scorer ranking with a huge 277 points. England’s next game is against Australia, with kick off at 8pm at Twickenham.
The following day we saw four matches spread across the country including Ireland Vs Canada, with Ireland winning by 43 points and France Vs Italy, with France taking a 32-10 win.
The highest win so far was on Sunday 27th, with Australia beating Uruguay 65-3.
Only just a couple of hours ago Tonga beat Namibia 35-21 and had possession of the ball 61% of the time during the match. Tonga’s next match will be on 4th October against Argentina, held at Leicester City Stadium.
The top point scorer in the Rugby World Cup at present is Ayumu Goromaru from Japan scoring 29 points in 2 matches. Cory Allen has scored the most tries so far, being 3, for Wales and only made his debut 2 years ago.
The final will be hosted at Twickenham Stadium with a 4pm kick off.
